Following the implementation of the THEMA Project, the institution of the Prefect of Gjirokastra Region together with other partners of this cross-border initiative, carried out the second round of the study tour in Gjirokastra district with the aim of promoting cultural and tourist identities through new technologies for the development of thematic routes in the cross-border region of Greece-Albania.

THEMA Project Partners (Epirus SA, Regional Cooperation and Development Center RCDC, the Prefect of Gjirokastra Region, the National Tourism Agency in Albania and Ioannina Region Hotel Association) visited the first week of December, the ancient city of Antigonea, Argjiro castle in Gjirokastra, Libohova, Peshtan, Përmet, the thermal waters of Bënja and Piskova, realizing the tourist potential that these places have to offer on behalf of their natural and cultural heritage.

THEMA project, whose lead partner is the Epirus Development Agency, is co-funded by the European Union and by national funds of the countries participating in the “INTERREG IPA II Cross Border Cooperation “Greece-Albania 2014-2020”.
