Representatives from Durres Municipality explained how SUMPORT is contributing to improve sustainable mobility in Durres, and what the next steps will be.
In the framework of Green Growth Community Project, also co-financed from Interreg Med Programme 2014-2020, the Regional Council of Durrës has organized the 3rd International Event “Role of regional and local policy makers in enhancing Green Innovation” on November 15-16th.
The Community Project Green Growth offers to participants a tailor-made programme with participation from key stakeholders and participatory sessions to debate about the significant role of policies and green growth interventions in domains such as funding, public procurement, rural revitalization and resilience, urban development, sustainable agriculture and industries. The participants were national, regional and local authorities, co
mpanies, professional associations and research centres coming from all the MED area (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania).
Ms. Floreta Kërtusha (Durrës Municipality), presented the aims, objectives and ongoing activities of the SUMPORT Project. She shared with participants practices and experiences on the drafting and harmonization of SUMP, as well as the implementation of pilot actions (such as bike lines, bike sharing etc) related to sustainable mobility in participating cities and their impact on green growth.
